Peace School - We'll hear the story of The Great Family. This family of Abe, Ike, Jake and Joe - Sarah, (Re)Becca, Rachel and Leah - are the focus of the second part of Genesis. Abe and Sarah leave Ur, and their great-grandson, Joe, takes the family to Egypt. The visual below is of the Family Tree and represents this second section of our Bible Storyline.
Read - This week read pages 32-39 to continue following along in your Shine On Story Bible through the year. This week's reading continues last week's reading, and Oct. 11 story, of the Great Family.
Practice - Parents, here's an activity to do at home together during the week from Building Faith, an Anabaptist resource. This activity connects with our Jewish friends and their observance last week. "Feast of Tabernacles"
Pray - During the week consider praying a portion of The LORD's Prayer from The New Zealand Prayer Book copied below (or choose to repeat another one of your favorite prayers). Big words, but amazing how quickly younger children can memorize and then take a lifetime to add meaning.
Learning to Serve - As we continue collecting coins on Sunday mornings for MCC, watch the video below to learn more about our August School Kit project. Here's the website for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) if you'd like to consider other ways of contributing their work, including the MCC Relief Sale in Rocky Ford, Oct. 14-15.
