Peace School - Last year we also heard the story of young King Josiah, and how he chose to remember and revive the ways of God after they had been lost in the temple.
Read - This week read pages 82-95 to continue following along in your Shine On Story Bible through the year. This week's reading includes the story of how Israel first asked for a king (Saul), as well as their most famous king (David).
Practice - Parents, here's an activity to do at home together during the week from Building Faith, an Anabaptist resource. This activity reflects on "It's All God's." This becomes a hard concept for the Israelites in the Promised Land. As they get a king, a palace and a temple, they begin to act like they control God. Do we really own our possessions? Can we really house God? This activity asks us to consider how we practice remembering that everything is God's.
Pray - During the week consider praying a portion of The LORD's Prayer from The New Zealand Prayer Book copied below (or choose to repeat another one of your favorite prayers).
Learning to Serve - As we collect Thanksgiving Food Baskets, this is our last video about DenUM's Food For All. How can we continue working towards making sure everyone always has enough to eat?
