Hello Peace School Families,
Each Spring the younger classes take three weeks to consider the Easter Story, from Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem through the story of his resurrection. We take three weeks to make sure we can learn about foot washing, the Last Supper and the death. Previous curriculum put too much in one or two lessons, so we hope three is indepth enough.
If you have any questions as we teach these three lessons, don't hesitate to let me know.
During this time Jill and I are offering conversations on baptism with the MYF.
Hello FMC Families,
Support our MYF by sticking around for the annual Soup Fundraiser for lunch, from 11:00-12:30. We'll make sure there is plenty of chicken noodle soup left following Peace School classes!
Worship this Sunday will highlight the Young Voices for Peace children's choir. Thanks for all the work that the Mennonite Society for Musical Heritage invests in our Mennonite children each year!
Peace School classes will be learning the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 (the text I preached on a few weeks ago). The JYF will have a change of pace, and sit together upstairs in Adult Ed. as we learn from Naomi Nishi about White Privilege.
Finally, please remember to vote by 12:00pm this Sunday regarding staffing positions and current pastors. The latest recommendation from Council will staff me/Tory at 0.5 FTE. I think this is a healthy move for the congregation, overall budget, and a realistic staffing level for Children and Youth into the next few years. Please call or email me anytime if you have questions, hopes and/or concerns. I'm simply taking things day by day, week by week and month by month :-).
May God be with us all as always,
