Peace School Sunday will include stories of Jesus healing people physically for the younger ages, the story of a Veteran during the JYF class, and Matthew during the MYF class.
As Lent continues, what are the spiritual practices that keep your family connected and focused on your faith? For my family, we can get lost in the daily routine that too often leaves us physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. While it's good to be tired at the end of a day, do we find enough rest, reflection, and community amidst all the bustle? I hope and pray families find rest daily, weekly, and during every season of the year - not just summer. God be with us!
Hello Peace School Families,
Remember to register with Rachel B. if you are planning to go to Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp March 4-6. Sunday is your last chance to register. This year we're inviting anyone from FMC to join us, similar to our September Retreat, but with lots of snow and an ice covered pond to play on :-).
MYF and JYF, remember that Sunday is also your last chance to register for our weekend with DOOR March 11-13. We'll be considering the difference between charity and solidarity as we strive to follow Christ and commit to a life of service. Cost is $100 for this weekend with DOOR around our FMC neighborhood and the DOOR offices.
Sunday the younger ages will be learning the story of "Feeding the 5,000" while the JYF hear a story by Mennonite Central Committee from a veteran, and the MYF continue their reading of the Gospel of Matthew.
May peace be with you and your families this second week of Lent,
Hello Peace School Families,
Brief reminder that we will not have Peace School for any age this Sunday (adults will still meet for any youth interested in attending upstairs). Enjoy the extended weekend with your family. We'll continue with classes on Feb. 21 for all ages.
Sunday the Pre-K, K-2nd and Venture Club (3rd-5th) Classes will be learning the story of the Sermon on the Mount. For Mennonites and Anabaptists, the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew and Luke has been the central mission of God's kingdom. It includes the call to better than your enemies, by loving them and seeking to be in community with them. It includes a vision for life where no one is forgotten, excluded, left behind, or left out. May it continue to inspire and challenge us for lifetimes to come!
2's will continue hearing the timeless message of God's love, and call to love.
JYF will hear the story of Cindy and Randy as they share what it has meant for them to follow Jesus in their life. If time, they'll continue reading Revelation afterward.
MYF will continue reading and exploring the Gospel of Matthew.
Adults are invited to keep following along with Peace School themes and stories by reading McLaren throughout the year. This week's chapter is
